A close enough to actual history of the the Vienna Run Club
The origins of the Vienna Run Club are lost to time. Scrolls found preserved in backroom shoeboxes indicate our ancient forebears gathered for conditioning and conviviality in a place known as the Idyllic Wood. No trace thereof remains, though modern-day forensic archeologists have used GPS mapping to argue it was adjacent to a Trader Joes.
We can set aside that fierce archeological contretemps and focus instead on what we do know: impressions taken from the dirt surface of the planter box in front of the right entrance to the recently opened =PR= Vienna running store were carbon-dated to midsummer 2017. Detailed laser analysis of the impressions showed seven or perhaps eight (this is still contested) individual and unique shoeprints from brands later identified as Nike, New Balance, ASICS, Hoka, and, yes, even Altra. The evidence was undeniable. Runners were afoot.
